HUMANOID -“A real-time and parallel system for the simulation of virtual humans”

European Research Start: June 1992 End: May 1995

Overview

The main objective of the project was to take advantage of the new hardware and knowledge on human modeling in order to design and implement a real-time and parallel system for the simulation of virtual humans in their environment. The HUMANOID software offers very attractive and unique functionalities:

  • Interactive human modeling.
  • Integrated motion control of the human body.
  • Facial animation and lip synchronization.
  • Deformations of the body while in motion.
  • Object grasping.
  • Walking
