Pandzic, I. S. and Joslin, C. and Magnenat-Thalmann, N.

Abstract: Networked Collaborative Virtual Environments (NCVE) are systems allowing multiple geographically distant users to share the same 3D Virtual Environment using the network. The paper presents an overview of the developments in the field of NCVE in the past decade with an introduction of research challenges and solutions for such systems and a brief presentation of systems that brought major developments to the NCVE field. As a case study, we present a new generation NCVE system VPARK.
